Jackie Thornton, CMP, MS, President and owner of Global Marketing & PR, brings over 20 years of professional event planning, marketing and public relations experience to clients. Her public relations specialty is community relations including outreach to diverse communities. Her event planning specialty is strategic planning and implementation during all stages of events.

Prior to establishing Global Marketing & PR, Jackie had positions of responsibility that included Director of Marketing and PR, Director of New Product Development, Product Marketing Manager, and Advertising and Public Relations Regional Manager. Her experience includes working with government agencies and corporations. Some of the companies and organizations that Jackie has worked with include: (The) Coca-Cola Company; Emory University; Georgia Department of Human Resources; Georgia Department of Industry, Trade & Tourism; IBM Corporation; Kennesaw State University, Monarch Marking; NCR Corporation; and United American Healthcare Corporation.

Jackie earned a Master of Science degree in Marketing from the University of Wisconsin at Madison. She is a Magna Cum Laude Graduate from the University of Arkansas where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree. She has earned the Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) designation. Jackie has also taught event planning certificate courses.

Jackie is a member of several professional organizations including, the Public Relations Society of America, and the Georgia Association of Meeting Professional International, and the Atlanta Business League. She previously served as a member of the Board of Directors for the National Black MBA Association and the Georgia Minority Supplier Development Council. Her company was a participant in the Governor's Mentor Protégé Program.
